چکیده

This paper experimentally studies the mass transfer during the dehumidification/regeneration operation using the hygroscopic material calcium chloride and calcium chloride dehydrate as desiccant. These desiccants are compared on the basis of the same operation conditions. According to the analysis of heat and mass transfer processes, the key influencing factors are relative humidity and regeneration temperature. It can be observed that the CaCl2.2H2O is more rapidly diluted than the CaCl2 at the same time during dehumidification, while the CaCl2 solution can be more dried than CaCl2.2H2O solution during regeneration. Then the CaCl2 is able to absorb more moisture in the cycle of LDCS system. Also, the obtained experimental results can help to select liquid desiccant.

lactic acid extraction from aqueous solutions with 2-Ethyl-1-hexanol by using experimental liquid-liquid equilibrium data at T=298.2K and atmospheric pressure

Liquid-Liquid equilibrium data for the (water + Lactic acid + 2-ethy-1-hexanol) ternary system in T=298.2K and P=1atm were determined and tie- lines related to equilibrium data has been drawn in the phases diagram . The reliability of the experimental tie-line data for this system was as confirmed by using the Hand and Othmer –Tobias correlations. The tie-line data were correlated by means of t...

Experimental Investigation of Phase Inversion of Liquid-Liquid Systems in a Spray Extraction Column

An experimental study of the phase inversion behavior of liquid-liquid dispersion has been conducted in a spray extraction column for systems of toluene / water, n-hexane/water, CCl4/water, toluene /water + glycerol (25 % wt), toluene + CCl4 (25 % wt) / water and toluene / acetic acid (5 % wt)/water. The effects of physical properties, mass transfer and column geometry...

A Study on Neodymium Recovery from Aqueous Solutions for Designing a New Generation of Sandwich Liquid Membrane

Liquid Membrane (LM) based processes, as Supported Liquid Membranes (SLMs), have been proposed, for over 30 years, as effective methods for the selective separation of inorganic/organic species from different water streams. The industrial use of SLMs has been limited mainly by their insufcient stability. To investigate on the main cause of system destabilization and the o...

Comaprison of Mass-Transfer Efficiencies of Scc and Structured Packing

In a previous paper, pressure drop, flooding and mass-transfer characteristics of a novel pilot-scale distillation column called spinning cone column (SCC) were presented. Here, we present the result of comparison of mass-transfer efficiencies of SCC and structured packing. Comparison of SCC and structured packing mass-transfer characteristics show that the gas and liquid-side height of transfe...

Separation of Carboxylic Acids from Aqueous Solutions using Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactors

Separation of formic, acetic, and propionic acids from the aqueous stream using membrane solvent extraction has been studied using three different membrane contactors made of polysulfone (PS), polyethersulfone (PES), and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) using two different solvents; including ethyl acetate (EA) and diisopropyl ether (DIPE). The efciency of the membrane and e...
